The Foreign Languages Department is excited to announce the integration of the AI Cambridge Speaking Tool, a groundbreaking application that is set to transform English language learning both inside and outside the classroom.

During this engaging presentation, Duygu Türkmengil introduced an innovative tool, which has been developed by Cambridge to enhance students' speaking skills through interactive and immersive practice. Thanks to our collaboration with Cambridge, our school has begun using the application, currently in its prototype phase and under further development.

The feedback from our students has been overwhelmingly positive!

The application features “Mimi,” a 3D AI icon, who welcomes students and initiates meaningful conversations. Mimi offers a range of options:

• Starts with an introductory dialogue.
• Allows students to choose a topic for discussion.
• Enables students to direct the conversation as they prefer.

At the end of each interaction, Mimi provides:

• A detailed transcript of the conversation.
• Highlights of any spelling or grammar mistakes.
• Personalized tips to help students improve their speaking performance.

Moreover, the AI Cambridge Speaking Tool alows teachers to monitor students' progress seamlessly and offers valuable insights into their development. By facilitating consistent speaking practice, the tool supports students in honing their language skills both during school hours and beyond.
