We are pleased to share a recent academic achievement by our lecturers, Siavash Bakhtshirin and Parisa Naini, who have published the research article “B2 English Learners’ Academic Writing Assessment: The Effect of Translanguaging-Mediated Pre-Writing” in the International Journal of Language Testing (IJLT), a Scopus-indexed journal ranked Q1 in Linguistics & Language according to SCImago Journal Rank (SJR).
The study explores the role of translanguaging in the pre-writing stage of academic writing, focusing on how learners’ linguistic resources can support planning and idea development before composing their final texts in English.
We congratulate our instructors on their academic achievements and wish them continued success in their academic endeavours. As the Department of Foreign Languages, we will continue to support our instructors in their academic pursuits.
