Preparatory Program

Modular System

The English Preparatory Program consists of four modules: Foundation, B1, B1 Plus, and B2. Each module lasts about 9 weeks with 25 hours of classes per week (around 225 hours in total).

Students are placed into the appropriate module based on their placement test results. At the end of each module, their performance is assessed; those who meet the success criteria move on to the next level.

By the end of the academic year, students who have successfully completed at least the B2 level are eligible to take the Nişantaşı University English Proficiency Test (NUEPT).

Students must attend at least 80 % of classes in each module. Those who exceed the alowed absence limit will fail the module and be required to repeat it, even if their grades are otherwise sufficient.

Summer School

If students cannot complete the preparatory program by the end of the academic year, an optional Summer School module may be offered.

-Students who complete the B2 level may take NUEPT at the end of Summer School.

-Students at the B1 Plus level with an average of 90 or above may also take NUEPT at the end of Summer School.

-Students who have completed the B2 level but failed NUEPT must attend Prof Class during Summer School. If they pass this module, they may retake NUEPT

Summer School also has an 80 % attendance requirement.

Evaluation and Feedback

At the end of each module, students provide feedback through satisfaction surveys about courses, materials, and instructors. These surveys are regularly reviewed by the Foreign Languages Department and play an important role in improving the program.
